Eligibility requirements to adopt from Morocco

To adopt from Morocco you must fulfil the laws of both the UK and of Morocco.  Morocco only has legal guardianship (Kafala) and therefore you will need to readopt in the UK courts when you come home.



You must be Muslim to adopt a child from Morocco



Adoptive Parents must be at least 25 years of age



Married couples may adopt from Morocco and there is no stipulation as to how long you need to have been married 

Same sex couples cannot adopt from Morocco

Unmarried couples are not permitted to adopt

Single Muslim women may adopt



Depending on which area and court you adopt through, you may have a residency of 15 - 21 days for part of the process to be completed.ges or domestic partnerships.



The Government of Morocco requires that people seeking legal guardianship of Moroccan children be employed.



Prospective adoptive parents must have a letter from a doctor practicing in Morocco indicating that they are in good mental and physical heath and capable of caring for an adopted child.
